Hi everyone,

I've finally decided to put together my CD Release party, from 8-11 PM on Friday, March 7th. This event takes place at Rebel, an amazing music venue and dance club. We have reserved the entire space for this CD Release Party. Oh, and it also happens to be my birthday (but you don't have to worry about that part).

There will be Three Bands performing:

8:15 PM - Lynda and Irtley, lead singers from EAST COAST BAND (disco cover band)
9:00 PM - Valerie Gurka (Planet Girl) performs her original music
10:00 PM - Ted Ames, lead singer from THE ROLLING BONES (classic rock cover band)

Come on down and enjoy yourself! It's going to be a blast. Bring as many friends as you want.

Having a live music meetup group is challenging because when people show up while a band is playing it is difficult to talk and/or get to know each other. So I've got a solution!

This is going to be a live music showcase with 5-6 bands. We will meet from 6:15 PM to 7:00 PM as a "Meetup Group". Just show up anytime after 6:15. We'll get a table. Then at 7:00 PM you are welcome to stay for as many bands as you'd like to see.

I am actually in one of the bands (the second band on the schedule), which plays at 7:30 PM until 8:15 PM. www.planetgirlnyc.com. I will be playing a combination of original music and cover band songs, about 8-9 songs total.

I will meet everyone at the bar area at 6:15 PM along with my friend Laura. She will help to introduce you to each other and we can scope out a table, so I look forward to meeting you! At 7:00 PM the first band will start playing. After 7:00 PM we will be very informal, so bring your friends and feel free to hang out as long as you like :-)

They also serve food there so this can be a fun way to meet some people over dinner! There will be a $5 cover charge at the door, not bad for 5 bands :-)
