Edinburgh is an amazing city - I know that's why I moved here. Its full of beauty, life and vitality but small enough to explore. It is culturally diverse with a lot to offer throughout the year - from the big art festivals to the smaller events, music, art, cinema, theatre, comedy, street performance, literature... you name it it happens here at some point throughout the year. I've set this group up to sample some of that with like-minded others in an accessible down-to-earth way. You don't hav …

I have began this group because after living in america for 7 years - east bay san francisco area to be exact- i have grown into a person who cares for people, my world, being loving, sharing and i am so surprised that in this area there seems to be no groups of this nature. My vision for this group is simply to unite people of a similar nature, that being people who are spiritual, thoughtful, creative, loving and who want to grow personally and have deeply meaningful connection with people in t …
Bringing music and art lovers together for gigs, concerts, art shows and random social gatherings. I expect most events will be in Leeds but i have no problems with them being anywhere in the country. It's up to you where we go. As far as live music goes, i think the best site for keeping track of upcoming concerts is Songkick http://www.songkick.com - enter as many artists/bands/musicians as you like and Songkick will tell you when they're next playing. It should even email you to let you know …
The idea of starting this group came from seeing my nutrition clients struggling to break socialising habits which revolved around pubs. Where there is of course a place for socialising in pubs (I'm not a complete bore), the ideal scenario for getting healthy and enjoying it with friends is to take your socialising elsewhere. Whether that is a walk, a bike ride and a picnic or an hour of Zumba followed by lunch, it helps to have a group of friends to encourage each other. This group is for peop …
A small gathering of amateur musicians who meet weekly and enjoy playing a wide range of chamber music. There is no proscribed musical standard for admission to the group but players should be proficient at reading music. Commitment is valued over virtuosity. Current accommodation and the nature of chamber music limits the size of group meetings to 8 -10 players, but if interest grows we may by able to run more groups. Players are encouraged to bring music with them that they would like to play.

I am creating this group for people who live near the coast; to make new local friends without having to travel to town. We have lots of lovely coffee shops, bars and restaurants here. I am also planning regular trips to the cinema and games/cards nights too. Walks starting and/or finishing in pubs/coffee shops could also be on the agenda as would going to watch live music. It would also be great if we could get enough people together for a team at a weekly quiz. There will be a monthly meet up …

Here's brief description: Steampunk refers to any of the artistic styles, clothing fashions, or subcultures, that have developed from the aesthetics of steampunk fiction, Victorian-era fiction, and films from the mid-20th century. Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual artisans into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk. I'm sure if you have taken the time to look at this page you ha …

This is an Edinburgh based group aimed at people in their 20s and 30s who want to go out and make new friends but who find it difficult because of their lifestyle or because they are a bit shy. This group is designed to help us all meet a wider range of people and I'm really hoping (although it’s not up to me) that on top of coming along to events, people will get to know each other and form friendships independent of the group. To help facilitate that, we have a (totally voluntary), private Fa …
