Different styles of music facilitate differing responses in the human …
I started this group because my experience as a composer was unusual and, I suppose, might be similar to others'. I studied composition in the 1970's and found myself in an unrelated career field. In retirement I've returned to that early interest with a passion. If your experience was similar and you would like to return to composing, join the "Rochester Senior Composers" (BTW you don't have to be a "...senior" to join). The purpose of this group is to provide a shared experience and a shared k …

This Music Meditation group will be offering calming, peaceful musical events. Music is one of the most accessible types of meditation available to us. Listening to tranquil, healing music can easily move us into a deeply relaxed meditative state. While in this state our heart rate slows, our breathing becomes slower and deeper and our brain waves also slow. This deep relaxation that we move into allows our minds to let go and our bodies to relax. We will be inviting different musicians to bring …
